Foster a Rescue

Fostering provides animals in need with short term housing. We ask our fosters to provide safe, secure, and loving homes while we cover the rest. RescueConnect is responsible for all medical costs and can help with food and supplies as well. Most of our dogs are in need of a foster home for between 1-6 weeks. Most cats are fostered for 2 weeks - up to 6 months.

Cats are often taken to The Sound Cat in Wilmington for veterinary care, to Cape Fear Spay and Neuter Clinic in Castle Hayne or to Fix a Friend in Winnabow, NC. Those are less frequent foster travel needs. On Saturdays and Sundays, Adoptable cats often are needed at PetSmart Mayfaire on Saturdays and Sundays for adoption events, so please take these transportation needs into consideration.
